Abstract
Our understanding of the actions of extracellular ATP in controlling kidney function via stimulation of P2 receptors is still at an early stage. Recen tly, several groups, including our own, have begun to address this subject: in this brief review, we discuss some of these effects and speculate on li kely function of extracellular nucleotides in the kidney.
