Injuries of the biliary tract occur rarely in association with blunt trauma
and pose a large diagnostic problem due to their bade of symptoms. Various
causes of biliary tract injury, the symptoms and the operative reconstruct
ive possibilities are discussed. The case study presented describes the rup
ture of the ductus choledochus resulting from a bite wound. Following dehis
cence of the suture of the end-to-end-reanastomosis of the bile duct a chol
ecystoduodenostomy was carried out.
