MRI of a cerebral cryptococcal granuloma

We report a patient with a cerebral cryptococcal granuloma who presented wi th recent memory disturbance and deteriorating mental status followed by te mporary loss of consciousness. To our knowledge, this is the first report o f a cerebral cryptococcal granuloma examined by a combination of convention al MRI, fluid-attenuated inversion recovery and diffusion-weighted imaging and in which the surgical specimen was analysed histochemically.
