Abstract
The synthesis, characterization and the X-ray structure of the three title complexes containing the 2,3-dihydro-2,2-dimethyl-7-benzofuranoxide (ddbfo) ligand are reported. The structure of [Li4Zn(mu(3), eta(2)-ddbfo)(2)(mu,et a(2)-ddbfo)(3)Cl(CH3CN)(2)] includes four lithium and one zinc tetrahedral metal centers linked by mu-O-aryloxide and mu(3)- O-aryloxide bridges. The crystals of [Na-4(mu(3),eta(2)-ddbfo)(4)(CH3CN)(4)] are composed of centros ymmetric cubic molecules. The crystal structure determination of compound [ Zn-2(mu, eta(1)-ddbfo)(2)Cl-2(py)(2)] shows it to be a centrosymmetric dime r, in which two ZnCl(py) units are linked by mu-O-aryloxide oxygen atoms of eta(1)-ddbfo ligands.
