Abstract
A new species of grasshopper (Acridoidea), namely Caryanda virida is descri bed from P. R. China, Its chromosome C-banding karyotype is analyzed. A com parison of the chromosomal C-banding karyotype of 5 Chinese species is give n. A key to the known 25 species of the genus from China is also included.
