Av. Latanov et al., COMPARATIVE NEUROBIOLOGY OF COLOR-VISION IN HUMANS AND ANIMALS, Zurnal vyssej nervnoj deatelnosti im. I.P. Pavlova, 47(2), 1997, pp. 308-319
Discrimination of colours was studied using instrumental learning para
digm in monkeys (Macaque rhesus) and fishes (Carpio Cyprinus L.). The
confusion matrices composed of probabilities of instrumental responses
were treated by factor analysis. The spherical structure of perceptua
l coloou space revealed in both animals was close to one in humans. Fo
ur eigenvectors constituting four-dimensional Euclidean hypersphere co
rrespond to red-green, blue-yellow, bright and dark neuronal channels.
