Synthesis and spectroscopic studies of O,O ' alkylene dithiophosphato complexes of metallocenes; CP2ML2[M = Ti or Zr]

Complexes of the type Cp2M[S(2)POGO](2) [where Cp = C5H5, M = Ti or Zr; G = -C(CH3)CH2CH(CH3), -CH2C(CH3)(2)CH2-, -C(CH3)(2)C(CH3)(2)- and CH2CH2CH(CH 3)-] were prepared by reaction of Cp2MCl2 and NH4[S(2)POGO] in 1:2 molar ra tio in CH2Cl2. These newly synthesized compounds have been characterized by molecular weights, IR H-1 and P-31 NMR spectral measurements. An octahedra l geometry for both the metals have been proposed.
