A polarization channel for radiative transitions (free-free, free-bound, bo
und-bound) of electrons in the fields of heavy ions with complex cores is u
nder investigation. The channel is connected with a dynamic polarization of
an ion's core which results in radiation of the core and an inelastic tran
sition of the electron. This channel is estimated in the frame of a statist
ical model of the complex ion. The consideration is based on classical mech
anics which is applicable to the effects due to the incident electron accel
eration in the held of complex ions. It is shown that a contribution of pol
arization radiation may be comparable or exceed the standard radiation cont
ribution. Scaling laws for radiation intensities in the fields of Thomas-Fe
rmi ions are investigated in details. Numerical results are presented for K
II ions in plasmas. A comparison with quantum calculations in the statistic
al potential is presented.
