Abstract
A new hydrophilic poly-carbon acid (PCA) coated quartz crystal resonator is able to detect ionic compounds, for example, organic and inorganic acids a nd amines in drinking water. The mass change is induced by an intra- or int ermolecular ion-proton exchange or by strong acid-base interactions. (C) 20 00 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
