Abstract
This paper gives a short overview of the importance of solvent extraction i n the production and recycling of strategic metals. Both the present situat ion and possible developments are considered. The use of solvent extraction in the processing of powdered metal-containing materials with tailor-made characteristics is also discussed as it is attracting increasing attention.
