Abstract
Novel bifunctional thiolcarboxylic acid esters such as thiodimethacrylates have been prepared in good yield by reaction of dimercaptanes with acid chl oride in KOHaq and organic solvent system in the presence of phase transfer catalyst under mild reaction conditions. These bifunctional thiomethacryla tes are useful as crosslinking agents having high refractive indices.
