Abstract
Steroidal hydroxamic acid derivatives were synthesized in moderate to high yields by palladium-catalyzed carbonylation reactions of the corresponding iodo-alkenyl compounds or enol triflates in the presence of substituted hyd roxylamines under mild reaction conditions. The effect of reaction paramete rs on the regioselectivity of carbonylation of N-substituted hydroxylamines is investigated in detail. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reser ved.
