C. Stukenborg-colsman et Cj. Wirth, Resection of the peroneal brevis tendon for peroneal clicking - Report of three cases., Z ORTHOP GR, 138(3), 2000, pp. 265-268
Introduction The Following article deals with the problem of peroneal elici
ting. This means a eliciting of the two peroneal tendons against each other
. It has to be differentiated from peroneal tendon dislocation or subluxati
on. Method: In three patients, a peroneal click was found without symptoms
of dislocation of the tendons over the fibula. In these cases the indicatio
n for resection of the peroneal brevis tendon was seen, Results: Postoperat
ively no pain, swelling, and peroneal click were present. The partial loss
of function of the peroneal brevis tendon seems to be negligable. Conclusio
n: In case of pain and swelling over the peroneal tendons, peroneal eliciti
ng should be included in a differential diagnosis. Resection of the peronea
l brevis tendon is an effective treatment in these cases.
