Abstract
Precise control of the porosity of silica-based hybrid materials is the top ic discussed here. One approach in particular-the copolycondensation of two precursors followed;en by selective removal of one of the organic spacers (see Figure) -is highlighted. Using this technique, microporous hybrid xero gels are produced thar have a high specific surface area and a highly hydro phobic surface.
