ine, identified using AdisBase (a proprietary database of Adis Internationa
l Auckland, New Zealand) and Medline. Additional references were identified
from the reference lists of published articles. Bibliographical informatio
n, including contributory unpublished data, was also requested from the com
pany developing the drug.
Search strategy: Adis Base search terms were 'fluoxetine' or 'LY-110140 and
('generalised-anxiety-disorders' or 'obssessive-compulsive-disorders' or '
post-traumatic-stress-disorder' or 'panic-disorder' or 'agoraphobia' or 'so
cial phobia' or 'comorbid depression'). Medline search terms were 'fluoxeti
ne' and ('compulsive-personality-disorder' or 'stress-disorders-post-trauma
tic' or 'panic-disorder' or 'agoraphobia' or 'generalised anxiety disorders
' or 'social phobia' or 'comorbid depression'). Searches were last updated
12 June 2000.
Selection: Studies in patients with panic. obsessive-compulsive, post-traum
atic stress or social anxiety disorder, or mixed anxiety with depression. w
ho received fuoxetine. inclusion of studies was based mainly on the methods
section of the trials. When available, large, well controlled trials with
appropriate statistical methodology were preferred. Relevant pharmacodynami
c and pharmacokinetic data are also included.
