Abstract
We propose a lattice Boltzmann model for studying electrochemical processes . A new lattice Boltzmann equation is introduced to simulate ion transports , including migration in an electric held, diffusion in a concentration gra dient, and convection with fluid flow. The electrode reaction is incorporat ed via special boundary conditions for electric potential and ion flux. Ben chmark studies on a variety of electrochemical problems, including the conv ective diffusion, the primary and secondary current distributions, and a ge neral case, yield satisfactory results.
