Abstract
The Alcohol and Drug Addiction Treatment and Support Act (ADATSA) created a treatment program for indigent clients in Washington State. This research assesses the relationship between the level of treatment services received and subsequent employment outcomes. Clients who completed their plan of tre atment earned more than those who did not, controlling for other factors. T hose clients who received vocational services, in addition to completing tr eatment, earned more than those who completed treatment only. While on aver age wages were low, this study does how that clients once deemed 'unemploya ble' can become productive. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ireland Ltd. All righ ts reserved.
