Abstract
The synthesis and characterization of two soluble, unsymmetrical nickel pht halocyanines with one aldehyde group in the alpha- (10b) and beta-position (10a), respectively, is reported. The beta-functionalized phthalocyanine (P c) (10a) was used in a Wittig reaction to afford the first "real" bisvinyle ne-phenylene-bridged bisphthalocyanine 11. The properties of the new Pcs ar e compared with those of the corresponding tri benzonaphthoporphyrazino (TB NP) nickel analogues 1 and 3.
