PEPTIDE-SYNTHESIS WITH THE USE OF N,N'-DICYCLOPENTYLCARBODIIMIDE

The usefulness of N,N'-dicyclopentylcarbodiimide as a coupling reagent for solid phase peptide synthesis was demonstrated by the synthesis o f sequences comprising the 65-74 residues of acyl carrier protein. The result was compared with that obtained using N,N'-dicyclohexylcarbodi imide and N-cyclohexyl-N'-isopropylcarbodiimide. The title compound wa s also used for synthesis of [NIe(27)]GH-RH(1-29)NH2. All coupling ste ps were monitored with quantitative ninhydrin test. It is concluded th at this new reagent can be successfully used for solid phase peptide s ynthesis.
