Influence of barium metaphosphate Ba(PO3)(2), addictions on optical propert

relative dispersion or Abbe number. v, and anomalous partial dispersion, D
elta aP(gF) of a fluoride glass in the system AlF3-CaF2-MgF2- SrF2-BaF2 hav
e been investigated. Optical properties of the glass were markedly affected
by the barium and oxygen ion incorporated in the glass. Refractive index a
nd partial dispersion increased from 1.4070 to 1.4188 and from 0.0038 to 0.
0052, respectively, but the Abbe number and anomalous partial dispersion de
creased from 107.1 to 80.5 and from 0.059 to 0.031, respectively when Ba(PO
3)(2) content of the glass increased from 0 to 1.5 mol %.
