Abstract
Reaction of (mu-H)(2)Os-3(CO)(10) cluster with (1S,3S,6R)-3-dimethylaminoca rane-4-one E-oxime results in loss of dimethylamino group and formation of (mu-H)Os-3(CO)(10)(mu-ON=C drop) cluster (43%). Treatment of cluster Os-3(C O)(11)(N=CCH3) with (1S,3S,6R)-3-mercaptocaran-4-one E-oxime gives cluster (mu-H)Os-3(CO)(10)(mu-S-...) in 86%, whose structure was proved by X-ray si ngle crystal analysis. Decarbonylation of the later compound with (CH3)(3)N O leads to a diastereomeric mixture of (mu-H)Os-3(CO)(9)(mu,eta(2)-(S,N)-.. .) clusters in 64% yield. (C) 2000 Published by Elsevier Science S.A.
