Ta. Nikonenko et al., Moderate ID repeat distribution in the genome correlates with the magnitude of arterial pressure in spontaneously hypertensive rats, KARDIOLOGIY, 40(7), 2000, pp. 36-41
The present study has confirmed previously reported polymorphism of ID-repe
at distribution in genome of spontaneously hypertensive rats (SRH). It has
been shown for the first time that this polymorphism correlates with blood
pressure level and with other phenotypic manifestations of spontaneous hype
rtension in the rat. Statistical method of piecewise regression allows to p
redict magnitude of hemodynamic (systolic, diastolic blood pressure, heart
rate), morphometrical, and certain membrane characteristics. The prediction
is based on correlations of these parameters with the spectrum of distribu
tion of clusters of ID repeat, determined by the SCAN technique. From 2 to
4 electrophoretic bands from the spectrum of distribution of ID-repeat clus
ters are sufficient for prediction of each of the above mentioned parameter
s. In. all cases an error did not exceed 10%. Conclusion. The method based
on analysis of genomic distribution of clusters of moderate repeats allows
to predict magnitude of hemodynamic parameters in F-2 (SHRxWKY) hybrids.
