Abstract
Using recombinant human tau protein phosphorylated by a brain extract and t he glycogen synthase kinase-3 beta in the absence or the presence of hepari n, we showed that phosphorylation-dependent antibody AD2 recognition only r equires phosphorylated Ser-396. By the Spot multiple peptide synthesis meth od, we showed that Tyr-394, Ser(P)-396 and Pro-397 are critical for AD2 bin ding. A decrease in the binding of AD2 was observed with increasing phospho rylation of residues in the vicinity of SerP-396. (C) 2000 Published by Els evier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
