Abstract
Treatment of [LnCp(3)(t)] or [LnCp "(3)] with potassium and [18]-crown-6 in toluene at ambient temperature yielded two quite different crystalline pot assium salts: [K([18]-crown-6)(eta(2)-PhMe)(2)]X (X = [(LnCp(3)(t))(2)-(mu- H)], [(LnCp "(2))(2)(mu-eta(6):eta(6)-PhMe)]; Ln = La, Ce; Cp-t = eta(5)-C5 H4SiMe2But; Cp " = eta(5)-C5H3(SiMe3)(2)-1,3).
