JAMES P.KEMP, M.D., is a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics in the Division o
f Immunology & Allergy art the University of California School of Medicine,
San Diego, and an allergist in private practice at the Allergy & Asthma Me
dical Group and Research Center. He is also Medical Director of the Center
for Pediatric Clinical Research in San Diego, Dr. Kemp received both his; B
.A. and M.D. degrees from the University of Virginia (Charlottesville, VA),
completed his internship at the University of Florida, his residency at Em
ery University, and fellowship training in allergy and immunology at the Un
iversity of California, San Francisco. He has board certification fi om the
American Board of Allergy and Immunology, In addition to being the immedia
te past President of the Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, he is
a member of the Respiratory Advisory Panel to the U.S. Pharmacopeia Convent
ion, Inc., and past president of the San Diego Allergy Society and the Cali
fornia Society of Allergy and Immunology, Dr. Kemp has participated in more
than 350 research studies focused on various aspects of respiratory diseas
e, including rhinitis, sinusitis, asthma, and COPD. He has served as a cons
ultant to the Food and Drug Administration and to many pharmaceutical and b
iotechnology companies with regard to the development of new respiratory dr
ugs or devices.
