Abstract
In two experiments, researchers investigated the effects of manipulating se rotonin systems on the transport response and dorsal immobility response in developing rats. In Experiment 1. administration of ketanserin and cinanse rin, but not metergoline, suppressed the transport response in 23-day-old r ats. These agents were without effect on dorsal immobility durations. In Ex periment 2, administration of quipazine to 30-, 40-, and 50-day-old rats re sulted in significant increases in transport response intensities and dorsa l immobility durations. Results are discussed with respect to the nature of the transport response. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Inc.
