F. Maggioni et al., MORPHOLOGICAL AND FUNCTIONAL-STUDY OF A CASE OF SUPERFICIAL SIDEROSISOF THE CENTRAL-NERVOUS-SYSTEM, Italian journal of neurological sciences, 18(2), 1997, pp. 113-118
We here describe a case of superficial siderosis (SS) of the central n
ervous system (CNS), occurring in a patient with a previous lesion of
the brachial plexus. Of the only 96 cases that have been described in
the literature so far, there are now Jive with a positive history of a
lesion due to the evulsion of the roots of the brachial plexus. This
is the first time that, in addition to CT and MRI morphological invest
igations, an SS patient has also been studied metabolically by means o
f PET in an attempt to find new clues that may help to clarify the pat
hogenesis of the disease.
