Rhenium compounds Re3S6/5Se0.5Cl7 and Re3S5Se2Cl7 were synthesized by react
ing dirhenium heptaoxide with solutions of selenium in sulfur monochloride
or sulfur in selenium monochloride upon heating. The compounds were studied
by X-ray diffraction analysis. Both structures contain triangular rhenium
clusters with disulfide bridges at the triangle sides and a bridging sulfur
atom above the Re-3 triangle.
