Abstract
Optical chemical sensors possess many features that make them suitable for various environments. In order to construct this kind of sensors, the key t echnology is to develop new types of recognition chemistry with optical pro perty changes. The development of supramolecular chemistry has provided suc h a technology. In this paper, three kinds of supramolecular recognition sy stems have been discussed according to the relationship between receptor an d chromophore and used to construct some new optical chemical sensors; (C) 2000 Elsevier Science S.A.
