Abstract
The chromosome localization of the gene encoding ornithine transcarbom ylase (OTC) was determined by Southern blotting of DNA obtained from a panel of common shrew x Chinese hamster and common shrew x mouse hybr id somatic cell clones using the human OTC cDNA as a probe. The OTC ge ne was found to be localized on chromosome de of the common shrew.
