Abstract
Using a modification of O'Farrell's method of two-dimensional electrop horesis, the protein composition of human skeletal muscles was compare d to that of human myocardium. The variability of protein composition was analyzed in nine types of skeletal muscle tissue. A number of skel etal and heart muscle proteins were identified on the electrophoregram s. Both common and tissue-specific groups of muscle tissue polypeptide s were revealed.
