We describe algorithms for determining the values of the monitored par
ameter from a pair of measured signals for cases when the ellipses of
equal probability density for the dispersion of the signals for consta
nt value of the parameter are tilted by different angles toward the ca
libration characteristic. Diagnostics of the instrument operation are
performed by indicating the sign of the next result and the magnitude
of its deviation from the calibration line. Automatic calibration of t
he instrument is done directly during operation.
