Abstract
The rapid and reversible coagulation of oil (toluene) droplets during their lateral diffusion inside glass microcapillaries was studied by m eans of video enhanced microscopy (VER). The methodological problems a rising in the application of VEM to the investigation of droplet surfa ce diffusion and coagulation and determination of the lifetimes of dro plet doublets are discussed. Experimental doublet lifetimes for the to luene-in-water emulsions are presented. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
