Ds. Xu et al., Preparation and characterization of CdS nanowire arrays by dc electrodeposit in porous anodic aluminum oxide templates, CHEM P LETT, 325(4), 2000, pp. 340-344
Aligned CdS nanowires have been prepared by de electrodeposition in porous
anodic aluminum oxide template from dimethylsulfoxide solution containing c
admium chloride and elemental sulfur. These nanowires have uniform diameter
s of about 20 and 100 nm, which correspond to the pore sizes of the templat
es used, and lengths are up to tens of micrometers. HREM investigations dem
onstrate that these nanowires have a uniform crystalline structure of hexag
onal CdS single crystal. It was proposed that the steady diffusing process
of ions probably plays an important role in the growth of the nanowire by d
e electrodeposition. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
