Abstract
The application of an educative approach to behavioral parent training pack ages is proposed. Differences between the educative approach and behavioral parent training packages are discussed, including differences in the targe t population, and the philosophy of assessment and intervention. Overviews of general techniques used in each strategy are provided. Issues surroundin g an integration of the components of each approach are highlighted and add ressed, including: how parent training packages would benefit, the practica lity of such an integration in terms of time, and the feasibility of applyi ng the educative approach to typically developing children. A case study is provided to illustrate how such an integration might occur.
