Some skills related to Zohdy inversion of resistivity using boundary integr
al equation (BIE) have been suggested in this paper. The results show that
when the exploration area is divided into many thousands of elements, the f
ollowing skills are effective for saving memory and CPU time of computer in
the iteration process of Zohdy inversion of resistivity: (1) suppose that
potential varies linearly on every block which contains some elements; (2)
calculate and save all necessary boundary integral values in memory of comp
uter for use in iteration; and (3) take use of the function of numerical de
veloping of BIE. A numerical example shows that those skills are effective,
and a field data tomography example shows that the image got from inversio
n accords very well with drilling test.
