Abstract
The condensation of sis {(Mo2S2O2)-S-V) building units around the organic t emplate 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylate (trimesate) anion led to the new dodeca nuclear oxothioanion [Mo12S12O12(OH)(12){C6H3(COO)(3)}](3-), isolated as a tetramethylammonium salt and structurally characterized by single-crystal X -fay diffraction study. This compound crystallizes in the triclinic space g roup P (1) over bar with a = 18.571 (3) Angstrom, b = 18.608 (3) Angstrom, c = 20.618 (2) Angstrom, alpha = 99.90 (2)degrees, beta = 98.31(1)degrees, gamma = 109.77(1)degrees, v = 6445(2) Angstrom(3).
