Self-destruction and psychopathology - Clinical validation and some results of the ego-structure test developed by Gunter Ammon

The aim of the authors was to Investigate the relation of psychopathologica l factors in particular the role of narcissism, self-esteem, depression, an xiety and aggression - to the self-destructive behaviour. Suicidal and non- suicidal patients among neurotic, borderline, schizophrenic patients as wel l as in normal control groups were investigated, by using of the ego struct ure rest (ISTA, Ammon) and in part of the test battery of the WPIO/Euro stu dy on suicide attempters. The results are analysed and discussed on the bac kground of dynamic psychiatry's integrative model.
