Abstract
Fluorohafnate glasses (HfF4-BaF2-CeF3-AlF3-NaF system) doped with CeCl 3 and some cerium oxide compounds were prepared. The effect of these a dditives on both crystallization behavior and scintillating properties (light yield, emission spectra, decay time) was studied. Glass-formin g ability was estimated as a function of additive contents. Stable gla sses with similar to 12 at.% Ce3+ and increased light yield were obtai ned. A shift of the emission band to longer wavelengths for glasses do ped with some oxides, was found.
