JUDD-OFELT ANALYSIS OF PR3- INFLUENCE OF ODD 3RD-ORDER INTENSITY PARAMETERS( IONS IN FLUOROINDATE GLASSES )

In this work an analysis of the Judd-Ofelt phenomenological Omega(lamb da) intensity parameters for the pr(3+) ion in fluoroindate glass is m ade. Different Pr3+ concentrations, namely 1, 2, 3 and 4 mol% are used . The experimental oscillator strengths have been determined from the absorption spectra. A consistent set of parameters is obtained only wi th the inclusion of odd rank third order intensity parameters and if t he band at 21470 cm(-1) is assigned to the H-3(4)-->P-3(1) transition and the I-1(6) component is incorporated in the H-3(4)-->P-3(2) transi tion at 22 700 cm(-1).
