Ke. Stiebing et al., On the spectroscopy of atomic electrons (positrons) in the energy range of10 to 50 MeV from heavy-ion collisions at intermediate energies, EUR PHY J A, 8(1), 2000, pp. 87-96
The feasibility of the spectroscopy of dynamically ionized electrons (posit
rons) from heavy-ion collisions at intermediate energies, e.g. Pb+Pb at 60
A.McV has been studied. We propose a magnetic toroid spectrometer for lepto
n spectroscopy in an energy range between 5 and 50 MeV. Special emphasis wa
s laid on large solid angles, on broad-band characteristics and on a good s
uppression of secondary events. The device is a versatile compact-size inst
rument for lepton detection in in-beam experiments at a moderate energy res
olution of Delta E/E approximate to 4%.
