Abstract
Cholesterol (CS) was determined in erythrocytes, granulocytes, and tot al leukocyte fraction from human subjects with various levels of total plasma CS. There was no relationship between the blood cell CS and to tal plasma or lipoprotein (low- or high-density) CS. The mean contents of CS (g per cell) are (1.26 +/- 0.02).10(-13) in erythrocytes, (2.08 +/- 0.052).10(-12) in granulocytes, and (3.35 +/- 0.20).10(-12) in th e total leukocyte fraction.
