Abstract
A simple procedure to estimate O(alpha(s)(3)) and O(alpha(s)(4)) corre ctions to mass-dependent observables is conjectured. The method is tes ted in a number of cases where the O(alpha(s)(3)) contribution is exac tly known, and reasonable agreement is found. (C) 1997 Elsevier Scienc e B.V.
