Abstract
The treatment of complex clinical syndromes poses a special challenge to th e mental health clinician because of the interactions between the comorbid personality disorders and the clinical syndromes. Advancements in relationa l diagnosis and in the classification of dysfunctional personologic systems can orient and guide the clinician in making the most of sequential and mu ltiple treatment modalities, and in intervening at systemic fulcrum points. Integrative Relational Therapy offers a model of treatment based on a biop sychosocial framework and systemic principles. In this article, a case exam ple of a Narcissistic Dysfunctional Personologic System is presented and th e treatment approach elaborated. (C) 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
