The optimal discrete-time estimation-correlation-compensation (ECC) algorit
hms are synthesized for detecting arbitrary stochastic signals in the prese
nce of arbitrary correlated interferences and noise with independent values
. It is shown that the ECC algorithms have a general form and are valid for
the Gaussian and non-Gaussian noise statistic. Specific features of the sy
nthesized algorithms and estimates that they use are discussed. The perform
ance of the optimal and suboptimal ECC detectors that use filtering and the
extrapolation signal and interference estimates are compared.
