Aim of the paper is to analyze the electromagnetic scattering by a perfectl
y conducting dihedral corner with deformed faces. An accurate Physical Opti
cs based model is developed to study the case in which only one face is def
ormed according to a parabolic law. It accounts also for the lighting of ea
ch face by the fields diffracted from the other one and is properly correct
ed to consider the contributions due to the monostatically diffracted field
s. The hypothesized profile constitutes a first attempt to simulate the pre
sence of mechanical deformations on the surface of corner reflectors workin
g in realistic operative conditions. The effectiveness of such a model is v
erified by comparing its results with those obtained with a rigorous numeri
cal technique. Such a Method of Moments technique is then applied to analyz
e the backscattering from dihedral corner reflectors with other one-dimensi
onal surface deformations.
