Three members of one family, diagnosed as dyslexic, are described. All
of them have variations of midline cavity: cavum vergae or cavum sept
um pellucidum, diagnosed by neuroradiological examination. In contrast
, the non dyslexic members of the same family have no neuroanatomical
congenital variations. We raise the possibility of a functional correl
ation between the dyslexia and the anatomical findings in the affected
members of this family. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
