L. Pouysegu et al., P-31 NMR INEPT spectroscopy: a powerful tool for structural analysis of phosphitylated carbohydrates, MAGN RES CH, 38(8), 2000, pp. 668-674
The application of the refocused-decoupled INEPT pulse sequence in P-31 NMR
spectroscopy allows, in conjunction with computer simulations, a straightf
orward editing of the spectra. Experiments were performed on phosphite deri
vatives of selected mono- and disaccharide model compounds. Structural inve
stigations point towards the existence of homonuclear P-31-(31)p couplings
through O-P coordination versus coupling through the ring chains, the origi
n of which is being attributed to donor-acceptor chelating interactions bet
ween phosphorus and oxygen atoms in spatially closely related dioxaphosphol
ane rings. Copyright (C) 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
