Abstract
Research on intelligent material has yielded a variety of sensors that can respond to changes in pressure, temperature, humidity, gas, and fluid chemi stry. These sensors are finding increasing applications in monitoring corro sion in the oil and gas industry. The principles of these intelligent mater ials and sensors suitable for application in the oil and gas industry are r eviewed.
