Abstract
The paper attempts to provide a multiscale assessment of landscapes and wat ersheds using synoptic multivariate spatial data. Multiscale assessment is a frontier problem in environmental and ecological statistics today. The pa per briefly deals with univariate surface data, multivariate signal data, a nd multicover categorical data, and applies stochastic conceptualization in volving dendrogram trees and conditional entropies with special reference t o the landscapes and watersheds of Pennsylvania.
